Quantitative Middle Office Specialist

4170 Trading is a proprietary trading firm based in Chicago, IL. The Quantitative Middle Office Specialist will be a full-time role located in Chicago, IL. The individual will work closely with the trading, operations, and accounting teams to provide efficient and effective collaboration. This individual will be given a large amount of autonomy in decision-making and be responsible for automating internal processes. The individual will need to work on multiple projects simultaneously and display excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. This role requires someone who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. The individual needs to be intellectually curious, determined, reliable, and steadfast in carrying out their duties.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field

  • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in trading, operations, or accounting at a proprietary trading firm

  • Experience working in a broker-dealer environment

  • Currently hold or willing to obtain FINRA Series 24 licensure

  • Currently hold or willing to obtain FINRA Series 27 licensure

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Excel required

  • Experience with C++ is a plus

  • Knowledge of proprietary trading firms and how they function

  • Can clearly communicate ideas

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to critically think

  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail

  • History of successful task automation and operational advancement
